How many Monster flavors are there?

Monster's US site lists 52 cans in five lines as of October 24, 2026: 14 Monster Energy cans, 18 Monster Ultra, 8 Java Monster, 8 Juice Monster and 4 Rehab Monster. Worldwide the count is much higher. Wikipedia puts it at over 300 flavors, because many cans are sold in only one country or for a limited time.

Key takeaways

  • Monster's US site lists 52 cans in five lines as of October 24, 2026: Monster Energy, Monster Ultra, Java Monster, Juice Monster and Rehab Monster.
  • Monster Energy was released on April 18, 2002 by Hansen Natural, which is now Monster Beverage Corporation, a public company on Nasdaq.
  • Most Monster cans have 160 mg of caffeine per 16 fl oz can, Zero Ultra has 150 mg and Java Monster Mean Bean has 200 mg per 15 fl oz can.
  • As of October 24, 2026, CanMog tracks 243 Monster can keys: 82 are Common, 161 are Uncommon and none is rarer, because big-brand flavors have a shop floor.
  • Discontinued cans such as Ultra Citron, Papillon and Heavy Metal have only one to nine owners in CanMog, so they are the best Monster finds.

You open the fridge at a gas station and see eleven Monster flavors in one row, in colors you do not have yet. Monster flavors change fast, so how many Monster flavors are there to collect right now? Monster's US site lists 52, and old ones leave without notice.

This checklist lists every current US can by line, the discontinued cans worth a hunt, and how many CanMog players own each one.

Why Monster flavors matter for a can collector

Monster flavors are the biggest single set a can collector can work on. Monster's US site lists 52 cans in five lines as of October 24, 2026, and Wikipedia counts over 300 flavors worldwide. That is a lot of cans for one brand.

The brand is also old enough to have a history. Hansen Natural released Monster Energy on April 18, 2002, with the original green can. The company became Monster Beverage Corporation in 2012, and two decades of launches left a long trail of cans that are gone from stores.

The CanMog catalog knows 692 Monster barcodes, more than any other brand. Red Bull comes second with 511. So almost every Monster can you find becomes a collectible the moment you scan it.

How the shop floor shapes Monster rarity

Rarity in CanMog is ownership: the fewer players own a can, the rarer it is. A can with 1 or 2 owners is Legendary, 3 to 6 is Epic, 7 to 10 is Rare, 11 to 16 is Uncommon and 17 or more is Common. The full rules are in how rarity works.

Big brands get a shop floor. A Monster flavor from the catalog is at most Uncommon, even when only one player owns it, because you can buy it in almost any store. I pulled these numbers from the CanMog database on October 24, 2026: of 243 Monster can keys, 82 are Common, 161 are Uncommon and none is Rare, Epic or Legendary.

That makes Monster a set you complete for variety and for your shelf score, not for one big rare find. The rarer Monster cans are imports and regional cans that the catalog does not know yet.

How to collect every Monster flavor, step by step

Collecting every Monster flavor works best as a line-by-line hunt. Work through one line at a time, so you know what is missing.

  1. Pick a line. Start with Monster Ultra: it has the most current cans (18) and the white Zero Ultra is the most owned Monster can in CanMog.
  2. Check the brand site. Monster's lines page marks cans as NEW or LIMITED. Limited cans go first, so hunt them first.
  3. Scan the barcode. Open CanMog, scan the can and confirm it is a can. It lands on your Energy shelf with its tier.
  4. Tick it off the checklist. Use the tables below and mark each can you own. A second copy of the same can adds nothing, so look for the next flavor.
  5. Hunt the edges. Check import shops, travel stops and discount stores for cans from other countries and discontinued stock.
  6. Go for the badge. Brand Collector counts different cans of one brand: 5, 10 and 30. With 52 US cans, Monster is a brand where level III is within reach (how badges work).

One flavor, many barcodes

One Monster flavor often has several barcodes. The same Original Green comes in 12, 16, 19.2 and 24 fl oz cans on the product page, and multipacks and other countries add more codes.

CanMog keeps one barcode as one drink. A new size of a flavor you own may count as a new can, or it may join the drink you already have. Scan it and the app tells you.

Every current Monster flavor in the US, by line

Every can below is on Monster's US site as of October 24, 2026.

"Owners" is how many CanMog players own that can key on the same date. "Not keyed" means the database has no clean key for the can yet, often because it is filed under another name. It does not mean that nobody owns it.

Discontinued and limited Monster flavors

Discontinued Monster flavors are where a Monster collection gets interesting. Monster rarely announces when a can leaves, so every item below comes from a published report. Owner counts are from the CanMog database on October 24, 2026.

CanLineWhat the source saysOwners, tier
Ultra CitronUltraThe first Ultra can, discontinued in the US in 20191, Uncommon

Rehab Strawberry LemonadeRehabOn the same 2024 chart7, Uncommon
Java Monster 300 French VanillaJavaJava 300 replaced by Killer Brew (Sporked)3, Uncommon

Look at the owner counts. Ultra Citron, Heavy Metal and Dub Mad Dog each have one owner in the whole game. Without the shop floor they would be Legendary, and they are still among the hardest Monster cans to put on a shelf.

Cans reported as leaving shelves

Some cans are still on Monster's US site but were reported as leaving. Sporked wrote in September 2026 that six Monster cans would leave before 2027: Ultra Fantasy Ruby Red, Juice Monster Rio Punch, Java Café Latte, Java Irish Crème, Rehab Green Tea and Nitro Super Dry.

In December 2025, Sporked reported that Reserve Peaches n' Crème, Reserve Orange Dreamsicle and Ultra Watermelon were on their way out, with Orange Dreamsicle back as a full-sugar can. The 2024 chart named Ultra Rosá and Ultra Red. All of these were still listed on the US site on October 24, 2026, so treat each report as a warning: buy and scan the can while stores still have it.

Caffeine per can and can sizes

Caffeine per can is printed on every Monster product page, and it is the same for most of the lineup. Each row below comes from Monster's own page for that can, read on October 24, 2026.

Sizes that change the barcode

Can sizes differ by line, and each size has its own barcode. Original Green and Zero Ultra come in 12, 16, 19.2 and 24 fl oz. Rehab comes in 15.5 and 18.6 fl oz, and Java Mean Bean in 11 and 15 fl oz.

The caffeine numbers above are for the size in the table. A bigger can of the same flavor holds more, so always read the label of the can in your hand.

Common mistakes (and edge cases)

Most Monster collectors lose cans the same few ways.

  • Mistake: waiting on a limited can. Limited cans like Red White Blue Razz leave without notice. Scan it the first time you see it.
  • Mistake: counting the same flavor twice. A second copy of a can you own gives no points. Spend your hunt on the next flavor.
  • Mistake: trusting one store. Gas stations, supermarkets and discount stores stock different flavors. Check three kinds of store before you mark a can as gone.
  • Mistake: chasing a tier on catalog flavors. A Monster catalog flavor stays at Uncommon at most. Go for coverage, and save the rarity hunt for imports.

Imports and regional cans

Imports are the edge case that beats the shop floor. Monster sells many flavors in only one country, like Papillon in Japan, and a can the catalog does not know yet has no floor.

If you are the first player to scan a barcode, you also get the first-find bonus. The points for a can never drop below the tier you found it at, as the rarity rules explain.

Your Monster flavors checklist and next steps

Your Monster flavors checklist comes down to five jobs.

  • Ultra first: scan the 18 Ultra cans, starting with the limited Red White Blue Razz.
  • Reported leaving: find Fantasy Ruby Red, Rio Punch, Café Latte, Irish Crème, Green Tea and Nitro Super Dry while stores still stock them.
  • The other four lines: close Monster Energy (14), Java (8), Juice (8) and Rehab (4).
  • Discontinued hunt: look for Ultra Citron, Papillon and Heavy Metal in import and discount shops.
  • Brand Collector: reach 30 different Monster cans for level III.

To track your progress, check these numbers in the app once a month:

  • Line coverage: how many of the 18 Ultra cans, 14 Monster Energy cans, 8 Java, 8 Juice and 4 Rehab cans are on your shelf?
  • Total Monster cans: have you passed 5, 10 or 30 different Monster cans for the Brand Collector badge levels?
  • Limited cans: did you scan Red White Blue Razz and Juice Strawberry Lemonade before they left?
  • Leaving cans: how many of the reported-leaving cans did you find this month?
  • Discontinued finds: do you own any can from the discontinued table?

Pick one line each month and try to close it. Ultra in month one, Juice and Rehab in month two, Java and the Monster Energy line in month three.

At the end of the month, count the gaps in that line and write down where you saw the missing cans. Three months of this covers all 52 US cans.

Every Monster can you scan goes on your shelf and adds to your Energy score. Questions about scans and tiers are in the FAQ, and you can get CanMog free on iPhone and Android.
